In almost every type of object in CRM, you can add a "Post" that others can read.
When you open an Account, Contact, Opportunity, Quote etc... you will see a section in the center that looks like this:
If you click "POSTS" (top left in the above picture), you will be able to see any posts by other users:
In this picture, you will also see a few other capabilities:
- A field where you can start typing your own post (it says "Enter post here")
- Three filter options for viewing all the posts below:
- Auto posts - this is content that CRM has added. Both of the posts in the picture are Auto Posts.
- User posts - this is content added by Users (like you).
- All posts - all of the above
What good is a post if no one knows you have posted it?
- We have developed a solution that notifies both the owner of the object you posted on AND anyone you tag in the post.
- You can also see if you were tagged in anything by viewing the "What's New" tab
How to tag someone in a post:
- Type the at sign (@) then start typing someones name. If you were looking for John, you would type "@John Wright" without the quotes.
- As you type, a box will appear and give you the option to "Look up more records." Click that.
- A dialog box will open. Make sure the person that you want has a check next to their name. To toggle the check marks, Just click next to the name: where the check is in the picture below. Don't click the name... that opens the person's record in CRM... easy to get lost.
- Click the "Add" button.
- Continue typing whatever you want in the post. You could also add more tagged users.
Important note: It is possible to "Reply" or "Comment" on a post. The email notification does NOT work on replies/comments.
