When a user receives an error when attempting to access GMail through the GMail app:


The operation couldn't be completed (com.google.HTTPStaus error 500 (and indicates that the device hasn't been synced in the last 24 hours) the following steps should be taken to attempt to resolve the problem:


  • Open the GMail app and remove your account:

1. Tap Edit in the Account list

2.    Tap Remove twice


  • Remove the old Device Management profile

1. Open Settings and tap General


2. Tap Device Management and Google Apps Device Policy and then Remove Management


  • Configure Google Device Policy Management
    • This app should already be installed on your phone. You can find it by swiping right on the home screen and typing Google Device Policy into the search field.
    • If it is not installed on your phone, download and install it from the Apple App Store.

1. Open Google Device Policy, Allow notifications, and sign in using your ASCO GMail credentials


2. Accept the Terms of Service, and download and install the profile


3. You will see a message requesting your "Trust" of the Profile source. Tap Trust and then Done


At this point, the user should have full use of ASCO data on their iOS device (GMail, Calendar, Hangouts, etc.)


If the issue persists, create a new ticket or escalate an existing ticket.
